Costs of Running a Self Managed Super Fund
There are a number of costs in running a SMSF but you will find that these costs are competitive with the administration costs you would have been paying when being part of a large Super Fund. We have set our fees at annual amounts as set out below.
1. We have two annual fees. The first annual fee is of between $1,200 and *$4,400 to cover:- a. All year Taxation, Accounting and Bookkeeping Advice b. Annual financial accounts & member statements c. Preparation of annual tax return d. Preparation of audit work papers e. Payment of Auditor fees f. Annual review and analysis of fund position from a tax perspective. g. General day to day correspondence with yourselves and the ATO. *there are a few of our clients who pay a bit more than $4400 for one of two reasons only, an inordinate number of transactions or extremely poor record keeping.
2. The second annual fee is $165 for the Preparation and Lodgement of the ASIC Company Annual Return which is assessed on the registration date of your company each year.
3. Excluded Costs from the above fees are:- a. Changeover costs associated with existing SMSF's Accounts transferring from a previous accountant with extra work such as tax returns required to be lodged b. Any requirements for actuarial certificates or government authority audits or investigations c. Consultant fees and specialist technical research work taking longer than a half hour d. Fund tax and Regulatory fees and levies e. Quarterly accounts and member statements.
